About

SL Bishopstone

has a masters degree in Art History and a love of global mythologies and exploration. After realising she lacked the finances to become Lara Croft, she put on a backpack and went travelling anyway – just the less glamourous, infinitely more interesting kind of travelling, filled with rich histories that you can only discover by walking the path less trodden.

She’s driven alone across the outback, explored Fijian dive sites, ridden across the Atlas Mountains on horseback, watched the sun rise over Angkor Wat and lived in New Zealand. This passion for travel has extended into her work life, where, prior to taking up the pen, she travelled extensively in Asia for a major British university to build links with leading Asian institutions.

SL Bishopstone writes accessible fantasy realism that is built on intersecting history and mythology, wrapped up in stories about the protagonist’s underlying humanity.

She currently lives in North Yorkshire with her pack; two children, two live-wire dogs and the odd transiting hedgehog.
